My wife and I have always had several cats (indoor-only), and Dr. Weaver has been our primary-care vet ever since we retired and settled in Pisgah Forest 16 years ago. She has provided top-quality care for all of our cats beginning at a vet practice in Brevard and continuing at Health Care for Pets Hospital. I agree with what all the other 5-star reviewers have written to the extent our experiences overlap at the Mills River practice. I will relate just one example, of many I could describe. We rescued a feral cat on an extremely cold day in February of 2005. He was obviously in very bad physical condition, and we knew that he couldn’t possibly survive the night. We rushed him to Dr. Weaver and asked her to do her best. Not only did she perform a miracle and save his life, but she encouraged us to provide him the good home he needed. We guessed that at the time of rescue he was 2 years old. Now after just turning 16 he remains playful, comfortable, and happy. He does have several aging-related health issues, but these are well under control thanks to all the staff at Health Care for Pets. They deserve my enthusiastic “thumbs up.”
