Dr. Christine Weaver is an excellent, skillful, and compassionate vet. We appreciate her skill as a diagnostician, excellence as a ‘listener,’ and her kindness. We trust her treatment decisions and delivery. She explains things thoroughly. She and her staff follow up every time. Our two cats are less appreciative, but they think that about anyone who requires a car ride in a carrier. The staff members at Health Care for Pets are warm and professional from beginning to end, helping make the hard parts of vet visits easier. The attractive office and beautiful setting add to the calming atmosphere.

Extremely professional, kind and caring staff. Dr. Christine Weaver is so knowledgable and personable. I would highly recommend them. The office is cozy and clean and they are wonderful with your animal and you!!!! They are prompt in getting back to you with results and they explain all options and answer all questions in detail and in a way you understand. Excellent care for your furry family member!

My wife and I have always had several cats (indoor-only), and Dr. Weaver has been our primary-care vet ever since we retired and settled in Pisgah Forest 16 years ago. She has provided top-quality care for all of our cats beginning at a vet practice in Brevard and continuing at Health Care for Pets Hospital. I agree with what all the other 5-star reviewers have written to the extent our experiences overlap at the Mills River practice. I will relate just one example, of many I could describe. We rescued a feral cat on an extremely cold day in February of 2005. He was obviously in very bad physical condition, and we knew that he couldn’t possibly survive the night. We rushed him to Dr. Weaver and asked her to do her best. Not only did she perform a miracle and save his life, but she encouraged us to provide him the good home he needed. We guessed that at the time of rescue he was 2 years old. Now after just turning 16 he remains playful, comfortable, and happy. He does have several aging-related health issues, but these are well under control thanks to all the staff at Health Care for Pets. They deserve my enthusiastic “thumbs up.”

My husband and I recently adopted a cocker spaniel pup after losing our sweet doggie of old age. Before getting her we both agreed we wanted a different vet then the one we had before. We felt like he was only out for the money, nickel and diming us for everything. Many times he would leave the room and the vet assistant would whisper to us a more affordable way. When we got our new puppy we set out to find someone we could put our trust in with our fur baby. We relied on the opinions of locals and our neighbors, Health Care For Pets was said over and over again. Made an appointment and since our first visit knew we were in the right hands.They treat you and your pet like family. Dr. Christine Weaver is sincerely concerned for every aspect of your pets health and wellbeing. The staff is extremely competent, always pleasant and going the extra mile to let you know they care about what’s really going on. We couldn’t be happier with the decision we made and look forward to many more years with our Ollie and Health Care For Pets as our trusted veterinarian.

The facility and grounds look professional and welcoming.
Office staff and vet techs are friendly and helpful. When my dog died one of the techs went out of her way to get me information about rescue centers so that I could find another pet.
Dr. Weaver is exceptional. She is knowledgeable and compassionate and takes plenty of time to explain my dog’s medical needs and offer options for care.

Dr. Weaver is kind, compassionate, and very knowledgeable about our fur babies. She walked us through losing one of our cats last year with so much kindness, and she always explains any test, vaccination, or medication thoroughly before moving forward. The office staff is also wonderful. We’ve never had a bad experience with anyone who works here. We’re moving tomorrow, so we had our last visit today, but we will miss this wonderful vet!

We were new to the area and felt so welcomed by the staff at Health Care for Pets.
Everyone there extremely friendly and eager to help. Our appointment with Dr. Weaver was excellent, she was thorough, knowledgeable, kind and we never felt rushed as she answered all our questions. Look forward to a long relationship. -
We love it here. Both vets are awesome & Beverly in the front is always kind & helpful. The vet tech is wonderful too!! I’m very happy with my vet choice.
